Consultant email signature templates
Clients hire consultants for a specific kind of problem, so a consultant's signature should name that problem. This template leads with your name and firm, describes your specialty in one line, and gives a booking link for discovery calls. It suits independent consultants and small firms who want to look established without a designed signature that breaks the first time a client replies from their phone.
;sig-consult;sig-consult in any app.Variations
The same message for a different channel or tone. Copy the one that fits.
For email with a current client, where the engagement name keeps threads straight.
When a credential is part of why clients hire you, e.g. CPA, PMP or CFA.
When to use it
- Follow-up after an introduction or a conference conversation.
- Proposals and discovery calls with new clients.
- Email during an engagement, when clients forward your messages internally.
What to avoid
- Don't describe yourself as a "thought leader". Describe the problem you solve.
- Avoid listing every client you've worked with.
- Don't use the booking link on email to a client's legal or procurement team.

Tips
- •Write your specialty as an outcome: "Pricing for B2B software" beats "Strategy consulting".
- •Keep the engagement variant as a separate trigger and fill in the engagement name each time; Retext asks for it when it expands.
- •If you dictate notes after calls, Retext's dictation can drop the signature in when you say "insert snippet sig-consult" (voice commands are in beta).
Works in Outlook, Gmail, Mail and every other app
Retext types the snippet wherever your cursor is. To use a different version in one app, give it the same trigger and limit it to that app with per-app snippets. They go by app, not website, so every tab in your browser counts as one app.
Consulting firms can keep the firm name and phone in a team snippet they create, such as ;sig-company. Each consultant types their own specialty and booking link into their signature and pulls the firm lines in with {snippet:sig-company}.

What should a consultant include in an email signature?
Your name, firm, specialty, a booking link and a phone number. Add a credential if clients hire you partly because of it.
Should consultants put a calendar link in their signature?
For prospects, yes: it turns interest into a booked call. For existing clients, a phone number is usually more useful.
How do I show my credentials in a signature?
After your name, separated by a comma: "Priya Shah, CPA". List only active credentials relevant to the work.
